How it all began
Carley & Zac

When we first met
By the end of this story, you’ll probably wonder, “how on earth are these two together?”
There wasn’t one big, magical “love-at-first-sight”moment when we first met - we just kind of “happened".
Zac was a first - year apprentice, I was a third year, and we worked in the same department, on different crews. We shared the same walk into work, the same break times, the same workshop - and most days, it was a quick head nod or a “morning” and off we went.
Then one day, we ended up walking in together. After a polite “morning”, Zac looked over at Carley & asked, “why are you orange?”, Carley explained she’d fake tanned for a party - to which he replied, “you look like an Oompa Loompa”
Charming, right?
Later that day, they met again when they got placed in the same workshop, which meant an actual conversation - surely?
They started chatting about sports, and Carley confidently declared “cricket and AFL are the two worst sports ever”
Zac: “I play both…”
Carley: “… Oh…”
So far, not the best first impressions!
But later that afternoon, Zac asked Carley for her “socials” (Carley assuming just as friends) and the rest is history…
Clearly he did see something special in his ‘favourite sport hating Oompa Loompa’ after all

The Proposal
As a type A girl, I need to plan everything. If I know about it, I’m planning it.
After ring shopping, the jeweller said it would take six weeks - perfect timing for our Tasmania holiday. But two weeks later, Zac told me there was a diamond backlog. I’ll admit, I was grumpy - it threw off my plans!
Right before our trip, I gave up hope of it arriving. On day two, we were set to hike Cradle Mountain with my best friend and her fiancé. She asked if I’d do my hair & make up - odd for a hike.. but sure, for the photos!
During the hike, Zac lagged behind acting weird. At the summit, when it was our turn for a photo, I heard a soft “so…” and instantly knew. Cue the tears & shock - he was proposing!!!! I might have started with an
“oh my god no” but it was an absolute, whole hearted yes!
As Zac got down on one knee, his pants ripped - of course they did… But nothing could really ruin that moment for us, just him & I, completely in love, and I was stunned & shocked in
all the very best ways.

The Love Stories that came before us…
We’re endlessly grateful for the love stories that came before ours - the ones that showed us what devotion, partnership, and laughter through the years truly looks like. Our parents’ love has been our greatest example and inspiration, shaping the way we love each other and reminding us that the best relationships are built on patience, kindness, and a whole lot of heart!
Mark & Robyn Pryor
Mark & Robyn met through their venturer unit. Although, they did go to the same high school & caught the same bus to school, Mark didn’t remember Robyn!
They started dating on the 23rd of September 1983, and then were married on that same day 6 years later in 1989.
Our favourite memories of our wedding day…
For Robyn, standing next to her father looking down the aisle and seeing Mark waiting for her, and likewise, for Mark, it was seeing Robyn when he looked up at the aisle and watching her walk towards him.
Our secret to a long & happy marriage is…
To respect each other, forgive each other & to ultimately just be happy
Andrew & Cathy Harding
Andrew & Cath met years before they married when Drew’s sister, Lorraine, began sharing a house with Cath. A great friendship quickly blossomed over a shared love of sport while watching a Wallabies match at Rainey’s housewarming party. Five years, and a few “wrong turns” later on Cath’s part; their stars finally aligned for their wedding day.
Our favourite memories of our wedding day…
The day itself was a dream; Cath’s favourite memory is convincing Drew to the the famous “Oh What a Feeling” leap outside Shark Park on the way to the reception, knowing she was about to spend her life with her best friend, while Drew’s favourite was simply watching Cath walk down the aisle to him.
Our secret to a long & happy marriage is…
Cath advises to marry your best friend, and Drew wisely adds open, honest and listening communication, and when all else fails “Yes, Dear…”
